Recognising the need for more clarity and coherence in global voluntary initiatives and standards, this session will explore the international standards landscape. It will discuss the impact on producing countries and how these standards align with and complement the newly updated IGF Mining Policy Framework, endorsed by member countries in 2023. Michèle Brülhart, Executive Director of The Copper Mark will join panellists from the Extractives Industry Transparency Initiative (EITI) and IGF to present recent updates and developments of the Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative.
