Dear Friend,
Thank you for your continued interest in the Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative. We are pleased to share some important updates with you.
In September, our Initiative Partners and members of the Stakeholder and Industry Advisory Groups gathered in Vienna to review the draft consolidated standard and multi-stakeholder oversight system—all in preparation for the first public consultation.
The first public consultation is approaching, and we’re excited to announce that we’ve launched a LinkedIn page to help keep you up to date! The LinkedIn page will be a key source of information as we move toward the public consultation phase later this year. Please help us spread the word by sharing and reposting the public consultation when the time comes.
We’ll also be participating in several upcoming events to engage with stakeholders and rightsholders:
- 29–31 October: International Mining and Resources Conference (IMARC), Sydney, Australia
- 21 October–1 November: Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) COP16, Cali, Colombia
- 11–22 November: UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) COP29, Baku, Azerbaijan; you will be able to find us at the ISO Standards Pavilion.
- 18–20 November: Intergovernmental Forum (IGF) on Mining, Minerals, Metals and Sustainable Development AGM, Geneva, Switzerland
- 18-21 November: RBA Annual Conference, San Jose, USA
- 25–27 November: UN Annual Forum on Business and Human Rights, Geneva, Switzerland
- 3–5 December: Resourcing Tomorrow, London, UK
- 9–13 December: Raw Materials Week, Brussels, Belgium
We look forward to going live with the public consultation and hearing from you with your feedback.
Best wishes,
Antonia on behalf of the Initiative Partners
