Update from Consolidated Mining Standard Initiative, April 2025

Dear friends,

Thank you for your patience as we work on the feedback received during the first public consultation. We have a big milestone coming up at the end of May when we will meet with our Advisory groups in-person to go over the documents. We look forward to sharing an update on that in due course.

If you haven’t had a chance to read through it yet, we encourage you to consult the CMSI Consultation Report, published in March, which summarises the first public consultation process and identifies key themes from the feedback we received.

In the meantime, we will be attending the OECD Forum on Responsible Mineral Supply Chains in Paris, 5-7 May. CMSI Partner organisations will be participating in a number of sessions at the Forum, including:

ICMM’s COO Aidan Davy will join the high-level opening panel and ministerial roundtable on securing resilient value chains for sustainable growth and development on 5 May at 10:00 (CEST).

The Copper Mark’s COO, Hillary Amster, will participate in a session that will explore collaborative ways for improved consistency, quality and consolidation in due diligence auditing on 6 May at 09:00 (CEST).

We look forward to connecting in Paris. For more information, please visit the events page on our website, here: https://miningstandardinitiative.org/events/

Best wishes,

Antonia, on behalf of the CMSI partners
