Guided by ISEAL’s Code of Good Practice to ensure transparency and legitimacy, the final public consultation of the Consolidated Standard, Assurance Process and Claims Policy ran from 8 October to 17 November 2025 and is now closed.
We thank all stakeholders and rights-holders who gave their valuable input.
Over the coming months, the CMSI Partners will be considering every submission as we develop and finalise the Consolidated Standard, Assurance Process and Claims Policy.
We are confident that this initiative will help drive positive outcomes for both people and the environment throughout mineral and metal value chains – from mining to smelting, refining and beyond. Thank you for the role you have played in shaping this initiative.

Response to first public consultation
Our first public consultation (16 October – 16 December 2024) provided valuable feedback from stakeholders and rights-holders. This input has been crucial in shaping and improving the revised drafts of the Consolidated Standard, Assurance Process, and Claims Policy. We are indebted to all who participated in the first public consultation.

Next steps
- This final consultation marks a significant milestone for the CMSI.
- Following the publication of the Governance Model on 8 September 2025, the evolved and independent Board will be established.
- The Board will have strong multi-stakeholder participation and will have meaningful input into the finalisation of the Consolidated Standard, Assurance Process and Claims Policy and will be solely responsible for their approval.
- We expect to have the Independent Chair and members of the independent Board appointed in [Q1 2026], and expect the final Consolidated Standard, Assurance Process and Claims Policy to be ready for implementation [mid-year 2026].
